Pilot for New Online Publication Targets “Real Size” Men and Women
DETROIT, Mich— October 1, 2009— Heavy Weights Magazine announces the debut of its online publication’s December 2009 pilot issue. This new online publication will keep readers updated on the latest in fashion, lifestyle, community, and entertainment primarily targeting full-figured women and big-n-tall men. The magazine, currently in its pilot phase, is available for view bi-monthly starting December 2009. Subscriptions are currently available for online only and are complimentary for a limited time. Heavy Weights Magazine will officially launch spring 2010.
The mission is to provide a media platform for “real size” men and women. While seeking to empower, uplift, and inform the most underrepresented audience in mainstream media, the full-figured community.
With the rise in popularity of shows like The Biggest loser and More to Love, Americans are showing more interest in seeing themselves in mainstream media. This is the very signal of the times that has propelled Owner and CEO of Heavy Weights Magazine to launch this new medium. "If America wants to see more of themselves in mainstream media then Heavy Weights is the platform in which it will happen," said Danielle Robertson. “We’ll offer all the stuff you love about lifestyle magazines for your life, your style, and most importantly your size.”
The contents in the magazine will cover the basics and much more, but it will be tailored to our full-figured readers. The following is an example of what can be expected.
